A message from our Chair and CEO

Children and families are at the heart of Gowrie NSW and this year was no exception.  We grew our middle childhood education services throughout NSW and are on our way to becoming a leading provider of NSW out of school services. We also extended our reach with opening an early education and care centre in Lithgow, Mid-Western NSW and began work on new centres in Mayfield, outside Newcastle and in Canberra.   To create greater impact, we have reinvigorated our Education Hub,  transforming our Professional Development program for Professional Educators. This year we are proud to have been able to deliver throughout NSW early learning and care for children of migrants and refugees learning English.. This service is financially demanding but leads to great rewards for children and their parents, as they start their new lives in our country.

Our financial results this year reflect significant investments, a tough operating environment, our support of migrants’ learning and transitioning to the new government funding of children’s services. Growth trends are up in a number of areas of our operations and we expect this to continue as we move into the second year of implementation of our strategic plan. The Gowrie NSW Board and staff are committed to financial sustainability within our social purpose. We are very fortunate to have passionate dedicated educators, and tireless support teams, along with engaged parents, families and other stakeholders.  Our staff and Board, continue to work towards being at the forefront of early and middle childhood education and to have services with greater reach with greater impact for children, families and educators.
