Gowrie NSW is recruiting for 4 x Coordinators to run our Brand new soon to be opened toward's the end of July 2019  Early Learning Centre's at the following locations:

  • Padstow - 4 day role 
  • Lidcombe- 4 day role 
  • Wetherill Park- 4 day role 
  • Baulkham Hills - 5 day role 

These services are part of the AMEP program and are purposefully built and located inside the NSW Tafe Grounds they operate between the hours of 8.30am -3.30pm, Term time only with oppurtunites to work at other services in the Holiday periods.

The Role:

The role of Coordinator in these services is to lead a team of professional and passionate educators caring for children who come from many diverse backgrounds.

The program is run while their parents study English through AMEP our program cares for and supports their children aged from 0-6 years.

The role has a very rewarding concept and requires someone with a high level of patience and who is passionate about the care and development of children with strong beliefs around inclusive practice. 

Duties of position:

  • Provide a program of activities based on children's interests and emotional and social wellbeing
  • Support children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Monitor the environment for risks and follow Gowrie NSW policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for children, staff and families
  • Manage a high performing team of educators
  • Lead a culture of quality improvement around the program and practice  
  • Operate within a budget
  • Roster and manage staffing requirements according to ratios.

Essential requirements for these positions are:

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Bachelors Qualification
  • New Working with Children Check
  • National Police check
  • Current approved first aid certificate and CPR
  • Current approved anaphylaxis and asthma management certificates
  • Experience working with children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Open to learning, clear communicator and well organised
  • Some understanding of circle of security would be an advantage
