Specialist early childhood consultancy services run by Gowrie NSW helps to guide a leading childcare provider in Annandale to new standards of success.
Early this year, Maria Stavros, director at Toxteth Kindergarten enlisted the expertise of Stella Timpano, head consultant at Gowrie NSW, to further enhance operations of the centre.
“When I took over the service at Toxteth Kindergarten I noticed there were a few things missing. I immediately began to make changes but I wanted the advice of an expert consultant,” Maria said.
Having recently taken on the role of director, Maria was specifically seeking assistance with their Quality Innovation Performance and wanted an expert to offer recommendations for an exceeding practice.
With the best interests of each individual child in mind, Maria approached Stella to assist with the community-based centre which caters for 29, 2-6 year olds.

“Toxteth Kindergarten is a well-established service offering quality care to children. When I met Maria she expressed her desire to improve operations and service offerings to families by taking on expert consultancy,” Stella said.
Stella spent time reviewing the Quality Improvement Plan and gave recommendations for each quality area. She also spent a full day at the centre conducting a National Quality Standard visit and followed up with a detailed report of the findings and recommendations for improvement.
Maria was thrilled with Stella’s services and said her centre has definitely changed for the better. “We have adopted the recommendations that were given to us by Stella and the entire team of educators, families and children have noticed the positive changes we have made as a result,” Maria said.
