The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) provides free English language tuition to eligible migrants from the skilled, family and humanitarian visa streams, to help them learn English to assist with their settlement in Australia and employment opportunities.

Gowrie NSW are partnered with NSW AMES, TAFE NSW and the Smith Family to deliver the AMEP program in the Illawarra/Wollongong region, Hunter/ Newcastle region and Northern Sydney and Other Rural region.

Under the program, Gowrie NSW places children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in mainstream child care services and crèche services while their parent studies English. Each year Gowrie NSW places more than 2,500 children covered under the program.

Gowrie NSW runs two crèche services as part of the AMEP program.

The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

Find out more about the AMEP from the Department of Education and Training website.

Our children are our greatest hope... every thinking person must realise that when this bitter strife is over we must build up a better world, and it is only through the children that this can be done.
