Every child at Gowrie NSW Dubbo Early Education and Care is allocated a primary educator. Through the first three years of your child’s life, their primary educator will work closely with you to nurture your child. They will learn your child’s routines, rhythms and unique cures. They will help your child to feel safe and secure, giving you added peace of mind that you’ve made the right choice with Gowrie NSW.

Our school readiness program begins from the moment children enter our centre. Building children’s confidence, a strong sense of self, conflict resolution, creativity and collaboration are part of our program from the start.

Your child will have many opportunities to engage with literacy and numeracy. This will also be scaffolded and extended upon. In the final preschool years, we run a dedicated Transition to School Program for children and their families. This program is delivered by Early Childhood Teachers in consultation with local primary schools and will extend children’s social and emotional intelligence to build sound foundations for primary school.

On a day-to-day basis, this looks like educators who take the time to listen to the children and tailor a curriculum to meet their needs. It looks like children making discoveries and sharing them with their educators and peers. It looks like warm hugs at the end of the day as your child excitedly tells you about their adventures that day.

Every day your child is in our care, we’ll provide:

• A delicious and nutritious breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
• Nappies and wipes
• Resources and materials to support the educational program
• Sunscreen
• Bed linen

We ask that you please send your child with:

• At least one change of clothes (more for a child who is toilet training)
• Drink bottle 
• Sunhat
• Bottle with milk or formula (if required)
• Dummy or other comforter (if required)

Anything your child brings to the centre will need to be clearly labelled with their name.

Indoors, our Dubbo child care centre has four main classrooms and a dedicated art studio. The children also share their meals in a designated communal dining area while they socialise with their friends and educators.

In addition to the classrooms, we also have a range of multi-purpose spaces. These can be by multi-age groupings, helping to give every child at Gowrie NSW Dubbo Early Education and Care a strong sense of belonging and community.

Outdoors, the children have ample room to run, jump, play and explore. They can connect with nature, learning important physical skills as they go. 

Our play spaces – both indoors and outdoors – use natural materials and soft colourings. This supports our commitment to a calm and well-resourced environment for the children. 

On top of the physical environment and learning opportunities, the children also have access to dedicated and engaging educators. They receive nutritious meals each day to fuel their learning and play. And through a personalised curriculum, they build the foundational skills they will need to succeed at school and beyond.

This is an environment in which every child can thrive. They are supported, nurtured and challenged to reach their full potential… and have fun in the process!

Dubbo Early Education and Care caters for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years. There are three classrooms. 

• 0-2 years: 12 children
• 18 months - 2.5 years: 20 children
• 2.5 - 6 years: 35 children

Classroom sizes may vary each year according to our waitlist and the needs of our existing families. We work to ensure that each classroom has a group size that is suitable for the children’s ages, development and individual needs.

Extensive early childhood research shows that for children under the age of five years, play provides the best vehicle for learning. Children are more likely to persist at something in which they are interested in and play-based learning provides a great context for acknowledging children’s interests.

Parent relationships

The early years are exciting as children make new discoveries and learn new things every day. We involve you in this learning through the secure StoryPark app. The educators provide daily photos and stories so you feel connected to your child. You can share the excitement of their day with peace of mind that your child is safe and happy in our care. Our Centre Director and educators are always available for discussions or concerns.

You may be entitled to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help with the cost of your childcare centre fees.

Funded by the Federal Government, CCS provides eligible families with a contribution towards daily childcare or daycare centre fees. The Child Care Subsidy calculator can help you to determine the amount you will receive as this will vary based on your income and other factors.
