Event description

Orff Schulwerk is a unique and holistic approach to music education. It encourages every child to contribute according to his or her own ability. Orff Schulwerk is based on things children naturally like to do such as sing, dance, chant rhymes, clap, play etc. These instincts are directed into learning music by hearing and making music first, then reading and writing it later.

The approach is centred on teaching musical elements through speech, singing, movement, improvisation and playing instruments. Participants can expect a practical workshop for Early Childhood Teachers exploring the concepts of music and how they can be unlocked through singing, playing and movement.

Experience practical and engaging teaching and learning experiences that can be easily implemented with very young children. Come prepared to clap, sing, move and play your way through the session. This workshop aims to support busy teachers with practical ideas to build confidence and support learning.

Who should attend: Educators in all early childhood settings.

Event location

Our children are our greatest hope... every thinking person must realise that when this bitter strife is over we must build up a better world, and it is only through the children that this can be done.
