Our beautiful Mudgee service is dedicated to building strong community ties and fostering children’s understanding of belonging across diverse communities.

Promoting Community Through Art

This year, we promoted a sense of community within our service by entering artworks in the Mudgee Show, Sculptures in the Garden, and the Next Gen Youth Portrait Prize at the local art gallery. Our Preschool room  come away with second prize!

Building Connections During Book Week

During Book Week, we built connections with the local community by attending our local library with the children and their families. This visit allowed us to explore the services the library provides, listen to stories being read, and sign up for their special program – 1000 Books Before School.

Inspiring Future Careers at Try-a-Trade Day

Our Centre Director Nicole Smith spoke with over 350 students from the surrounding high schools at the Mudgee High School Try-a-Trade Day. She discussed the many positions and careers available within Gowrie NSW and the sector, inspiring the next generation of teachers and educators.

Joining the Local Child Family Network

We also joined our local Child Family Network, where local agencies like Barnardos, Uniting, Benevolent Society, Housing Place, Community Health, local public schools, and other early education and care centres in our region collaborate. This network aims to discuss and find ways to respond to diversity and best support each other, as well as the children and families in the community. This included attending Barnardos Play in the Park session in October to introduce our centre to new families in our area.
